They cannot deny you this leave if you have all the documentation needed. Once you’re approved, you will have 12 weeks that you can use for your treatment needs. Vacation and Sick Time
If you don’t qualify for FMLA, then you can use vacation time to seek treatment. You don’t need to specify where you are going or what you are doing if you use vacation or personal time. Many treatment programs may go beyond a week or two, but you can at least get intense treatment while you have time available. If your problem is serious, then you might have to risk losing your job to get healthy. There will always be other jobs to consider, but you only get one life.
